Aksoy Holding

Founded in 1978, Aksoy Holding operates in 5 sectors; (1) Fuel Retail & Lubricants, (2) Power Generation, (3) Hospitality, (4) Real Estate & Construction, and (5) International Trade.

Fuel Retail & Lubricants and Power Generation are the core sectors of Aksoy Holding. These activities are carried out through Turcas Petrol (BIST: TRCAS) and its subsidiaries. Turcas, with a history stretching back 91 years, is an oil and energy focused investment company with leading subsidiaries in their sectors:

  • Turcas’ flagship subsidiary in the Fuel Retail & Lubricants sector; Shell & Turcas Petrol — thanks to a network of ca. 1,150 Shell branded fuel stations nationwide, 12 fuel storage terminals and a state-of-the-art lubricant blending plant — achieved a turnover of 55.5 Billion TL in 2021. Shell & Turcas, est. in 2006 as a JV company between Shell and Turcas, is not only a leader of the Turkish fuel retail industry but also ranks consistently amongst the top 10 largest companies of Turkey by turnover.
  • In the field of Power Generation; Turcas and its partner RWE AG took the 800 MW Denizli Natural Gas Fired Combined Cycle Power Plant into operation in 2013. During 2021, RWE & Turcas achieved a turnover of 2.72 Billion TL.

Hospitality as well as Real Estate & Construction are also core (third and fourth) sectors of Aksoy:

  • Aksoy’s flagship asset in Hospitality is the fully-owned Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel, one of Turkey’s largest and iconic 5+ star hotels, operated by Hilton since 1992.
  • Within the Real Estate & Construction business field:
    • Aksoy expanded its high-end real estate investments nationwide through penetrating into the ultra-luxurious residential segment of Bodrum in 2013. Following the successful completion of the investment and construction phases, The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Bodrum has become the first-ever standalone residential project of Ritz-Carlton in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
    • Aksoy manages a selective portfolio in commercial & industrial real estate through the ownership of Aksoy Plaza in Maslak Istanbul and a number of nationwide fuel station properties under the Aksoy Real Estate Investments
    • In Construction, Aksoy successfully completed real estate, hospital, hotel, power plant (industrial facilities) as well as certain infrastructure projects as the main contractor, developer & contractor, and co-main contractor.

International Trade, fifth business unit of Aksoy Holding, has a special focus on the distribution of branded lubricants in Iraq, Syria, Middle East, North Africa, and more recently in Nigeria/West Africa. Operations in this field are carried out by the wholly-owned Aksoy International as well as joint venture companies; Aksoy Middle East and Aksoy Nigeria.  Along the partnerships with global brands in lubricant distribution, the group also continuously seeks out new opportunities and partnerships to expand its network worldwide in new business areas.

While continuing to carry out investments, production, exports, distribution, trade and CSR activities with its global partners in various industries, Aksoy Holding has embraced the vision of being one of the most admired, dynamically managed, continuously growing and value creating entrepreneurial investment companies in Turkey.

Aksoy Holding was renamed as Aksoy Girişimcilik Enerji ve Turizm A.Ş. (Aksoy Ventures) following a merger with its wholly-owned subsidiary Aksoy Bodrum Taşınmaz Yatırımları A.Ş. in May 2020. Since then, the company has been carrying out its activities with its new title and under a combined holding structure (functioning both as a holding and operational company at the same time), still using the Aksoy Holding as its brand name.

Aksoy Holding employs ca. 2,000 people directly and 20,000 people indirectly through its subsidiaries and controlled entities.
