Turcas signed a Joint Venture Agreement with The Shell Company of Turkey Ltd. (Shell Türkiye) in 2005 for the retail and commercial sales, marketing and distribution of fuel and lubricants. Following this, Shell & Turcas Petrol A.Ş. (STAS), in which Turcas holds a 30% share, began operations on July 1, 2006.

Shell & Turcas is one of the largest companies not only in its sector but also in Türkiye today with 1,200 fuel stations across Türkiye and a turnover of TRY 332 billion in 2024.

According to EMRA data, Shell & Turcas maintains its market leadership with 21.5% in direct fuel sales from the stations. While Shell & Turcas maintains its strong position in the fuel market, it runs an efficient operation with sales per station 2.5 times higher than the sector average. Shell makes fleet management easier and more efficient than ever with the Vehicle Identification System (TTS), which it developed and put into service in Türkiye for the first time in the world, breaking new ground. Serving customers for 29 years, Shell Vehicle Identification System (TTS) is currently used by approximately 50 thousand distinguished companies and more than 550 thousand vehicles all over Türkiye. In addition to the products it offers over fuel on its journey to become a solution partner for fleets; it enables smart, safe and efficient fleet management with the Vehicle Tracking System-Shell FleetPlatform, it offers solutions for bridge and highway crossings with the Shell Corporate HGS, which is a first in the sector and implemented in cooperation with PTT, and also provides the AdBlue needs of diesel company vehicles through TTS.

Shell & Turcas Commercial Fuels team ranked fifth in the bulk fuel market in Türkiye with a good sales performance in the competitive market in the last year. Through its dealers, Shell & Turcas cooperates with dominant industries in the indirect fuel market – such as logistics, manufacturing, mining, cement, concrete, and construction – all of which contribute significantly to Turkish economy. With the “Leading Distributors Project”, the company aims to differentiate itself with value-added services for customers, including quality control vehicles, visits to Shell technology centers and tank cleaning.

In the direct market, Free User License holders and companies in the maritime sector working on the cabotage line with Special Consumption Tax (SCT)-free Marine Fuel sales come to the fore.

Unchanging Leader of the World’s Lubricants Sector

Shell lubricants have been the leader of the world’s lubricants market for the 18th consecutive year. According to the lubricants market analysis report announced by the international consultancy and research company Kline & Company, Shell has been shown as the world’s ‘No. 1 Lubricant Supplier’ this year, as it was last year.

Shell & Turcas also carries out the production, sales and marketing of various lubricant products to meet the needs of its customers in sectors such as energy, iron and steel, construction, mining and general manufacturing, especially in the automotive sector. Shell’s lubricant portfolio consists of Shell Helix and Shell Rimula engine oils for the automotive sector, as well as industrial oils such as Shell Tellus, Shell Omala, Shell Mysella, Shell Argina, Shell Diala, etc. and the grease brand Shell Gadus products.

Export Star Shell & Turcas – Derince Facilities

Shell’s production facility in Derince, the largest lubricant and grease production facility in the Mediterranean, exported 41.6 million liters of its record-breaking total sales of 173 million liters in 2024. Shell & Turcas utilized Derince Lubricant and Grease Production Facility, a regional lubricant production base, both to supply the domestic market and to export directly to a total of 63 countries and indirectly to 86 countries- including Argentina, Saudi Arabia, the United States and the Netherlands.

Cooperation for Türkiye’s Transformation Towards Electric Vehicles

Shell & Turcas put their signature under a strategic partnership with Trugo, a company that provides charging solutions for Türkiye’s electric car TOGG, to provide an uninterrupted experience for electric vehicle users. Within this scope, it is aimed to establish 400 stations across Türkiye and charge 1,600 vehicles at these stations simultaneously.

To date, a total of 341 high-speed chargers have been put into service at 243 stations under the Shell Recharge Türkiye and Trugo brands. In this way, the high-speed charging network, which will be accessible to all electric vehicle owners in Türkiye, will also eliminate users’ range anxiety.

New Energies and Stations Powered By The Sun

Shell & Turcas continuously improves its products with technological innovations, contributing to drivers with increased efficiency and performance, while also taking an active role in combating climate change within the scope of studies aimed at providing cleaner energy solutions. Many projects such as electric charging units, waste management, afforestation, LNG and solar energy stations have been implemented to date.

As of the end of 2024, minimum 30% of the annual average electricity of 81 stations across the country are provided by solar energy.

In addition, the roof of Derince Mineral Oil and Grease Production Facility has been covered with solar panels and electricity has begun to be produced from solar energy. With its 1 MW installed power, it is aimed to meet approximately 25% of the facility’s annual electricity needs from solar energy and prevent approximately 500 tons of carbon emissions per year. In addition, the Shell Mineral Oil and Grease Production Facility that is located in Derince and export to 70 countries established the Zero Waste Management System and was entitled to the Zero Waste Certificate approved by the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization. In this context, the company’s sustainability and carbon emission reduction targets are significantly contributed to by collecting, labeling, recycling or recovering waste separately at the source throughout the facility, therefore reducing the amount of waste to be disposed of, and raising awareness among employees in this regard.

On the other hand, the Shell & Turcas Forest, established on a 5-hectare area on the Istanbul Northern Ring Motorway, aims to neutralize approximately 105 tons of carbon dioxide emitted from more than 1,300 cars each year. A total of 3,000 trees of 8 varieties, including blue cypress, pyramidal cypress, stone pine, linden, ash-leaved maple, sycamore maple, American oak and locust, have been planted in the Shell & Turcas Forest, whose planning, accreditation and planting stages are managed by two distinguished professors working at the Faculty of Forestry of Istanbul University. In addition to Shell & Turcas Forest, a total of 1,201 trees have been planted on a 2.2-hectare area at 6 locations where Shell stations are located on Istanbul-Izmir Motorway, aiming to neutralize approximately 40 tons of carbon dioxide per year.

Shell & Turcas has achieved many successes in the “People Make the Difference” program, which is organized to determine and reward the best practices in terms of service and quality provided to customers in nearly 80 countries and more than 47,000 Shell stations worldwide. Shell & Turcas has won a total of 12 station championships, 4 of which are world and 8 of which are European, as well as 1 European fuel championship, 1 non-fuel revenue world championship, 1 frontline personnel world championship, 1 market personnel European championship and 3 station manager European championships. This year, Türkiye’s winners were selected in 5 different categories and became candidates for the European championship.

The “WOW Moments of Magic Reward and Recognition Winners” competition, organized every quarter by the Shell Global team, is our competition where the best practices on a quarterly basis in terms of service and quality provided to customers are determined and rewarded.

In this competition, where applications are evaluated in two categories as individual and station, successes have been achieved with stories that make a difference beyond basic service and more than 90 of our stations and employees have been awarded in 2024. While we closed 2023 and 2024 as the country that received the most awards, we are proud to carry our successes up as the 1st country that won the most awards worldwide with the WOW moments we created for our customers and high customer satisfaction in 2025.

Terminals and Lpg Facilities

Shell & Turcas carries out storage and filling operations at a total of 11 fuel terminals throughout Türkiye, three of which are operated by itself, four of which are operated as joint ventures and four of which are leased. The capacity of Shell & Turcas in these terminals is approximately 500,000 m3. In addition, Shell & Turcas has an LPG storage facility. The capacity here is also 1,000 m3.

Shell & Turcas emphasized Quality and Trust with the motto “Always Ahead” in its advertising campaign in 2021. Shell & Turcas, which continued its advertising campaign in 2022, published its advertisements that included adaptations from true stories by saying “We All Have the Right to Be Ahead”. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of its operations in Türkiye together with the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, Shell defined its century-long journey in the country in 2023 as “Our Destination is Always Ahead”. It released several commercial films under this framework. Shell shared its deep-rooted history and comprehensive activities in Türkiye in the commercial “Journey of the Century”. With the film “Fuel of the Century”, it introduced the new and improved Shell V-Power Unleaded, the best performance fuel developed with 100 years of experience, special for its 100th year.

Shell joined hands with the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Türkiye, the Community Volunteers Foundation and the Federation of Women’s Associations of Türkiye to heal the wounds of the earthquake disaster on February 6, 2023 in the commercial “Solidarity of the Century”. Shell took actions for emotional and social assistance efforts to last for 2 years at 20 locations to ensure that the future of our country’s women, youth and children affected by the earthquake would be hope for all of us.

Shell, the main sponsor of the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League, donated 10 times the number of baskets scored during 2023-2024 season to the Educational Volunteers Foundation of Türkiye and announced this social investment adding value to youth thanks to basketball with the commercial film “The Score of the Century”.

With the communication of People’s Shell, which was launched in 2024, the solutions offered to the different needs and expectations of people coming to Shell stations were explained. In addition to markets for products and services other than fuel, visitors can also benefit from Türkiye’s widest service network for vehicle maintenance. In more than 200 Mineral Oil Change units, 9-point control and maintenance services are provided for vehicles. In 2024, more than 150,000 vehicles were provided with oil change service.
