ITU ERDAL AKSOY INDUSTRIAL ROBOTICS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE LABORATORY

As Aksoy Holding, we believe that education, science, and technology constitute the fundamental pillars of sustainable development. Guided by this conviction, the Erdal Aksoy Industrial Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, established in collaboration with Istanbul Technical University (ITU), was officially inaugurated on 17 June 2026 at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering on ITU’s Ayazaga Campus.

Named in honor of our Founder and Chairman, Erdal Aksoy, a 1966 graduate of ITU’s Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the laboratory brings together humanoid robots, industrial robotics, and artificial intelligence systems within a unified research infrastructure. As one of Türkiye’s pioneering centers in this field, it will serve as a hub for both academic and applied research in robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and autonomous systems.

Designed to accommodate up to 15 researchers simultaneously, the laboratory provides a robust environment for hands-on research, with a particular focus on supporting master’s and doctoral students. Researchers and students will have the opportunity to translate theoretical knowledge into practice through real-world industrial applications, prototype development, and interdisciplinary research projects.

The laboratory stands as a tangible expression of a broader vision to foster an engineering ecosystem that spans the entire innovation journey—from technology development to product commercialization. By bringing together academia, industry, and the university community around shared objectives, the center aims to strengthen a culture of collaborative learning, co-development, and value creation.

The Erdal Aksoy Industrial Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory is envisioned as a catalyst for transferring academic knowledge into industry, nurturing the next generation of engineers, and contributing to Türkiye’s advancement in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics.
