AKSOY PLAZA - LEED Certificate

Developed with an architectural approach based on sustainability and high-efficiency principles, Aksoy Plaza is Aksoy’s first major investment in commercial real estate. Aksoy Plaza was awarded the LEED Platinum certificate in 2013, becoming the first LEED Platinum-certified office building in Türkiye. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the LEED certification system is the most common and valid green building certification. For LEED certification, buildings are evaluated in an overarching environmental impact category, including climate change, indoor quality, resource consumption and water use.

RWE & Turcas Hybrid Solar Power Plant

In June 2024, Turcas Holding announced RWE & Turcas Power’s final investment decision for a 20 MW Hybrid Solar Power Plant that would be located adjacent to its 800 MW Denizli CCPP. RWE & Turcas Power had its Electricity Generation License capacity amended by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority to rise to 820 MW to include this new investment. 20 MW Hybrid Solar Power Plant is expected to be commissioned mid-2026.

Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus: Powered Entirely by Solar Energy

Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus, one of the first hotels in Türkiye to receive a Sustainable Tourism Certificate, now meets 100% of its energy needs from solar power, reinforcing its commitment to environmentally responsible tourism.

This transformation is made possible through a 5 MW Solar Power Plant developed in the Kelkit district of Gümüşhane with a total investment of USD 4 million. The facility will supply clean energy to Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus for the next 20 years, significantly reducing its environmental footprint.

Green-Energy Certificate

Shell & Turcas Derince Lubricant and Grease Production Facility made its power consumption carbon-neutral through the IREC certificate in 2022. At Shell & Turcas facilities, IREC certificates corresponding to all consumption are obtained to meet 100% of electricity consumption from renewable energy sources.
